Venture Capital Trusts

The Government encourages investment into VCTs by offering investors a series of tax benefits:

upfront income tax relief of 30% (on up to £200,000 invested per tax year if the shares are retained for five years);
tax-free dividends;
and tax-free capital gains (when you sell your shares).

The tax benefits provided by VCTs offer you an upfront Government-subsidised return, along with additional tax benefits over time.

Inheritance Tax Solutions

We've come up with a range of simple, flexible products designed to reduce your inheritance tax liability quickly.

Unlike gifts or trust solutions, which take seven years before they're fully exempt from inheritance tax, investments in our solutions are exempt after just two years. What's more, you retain control of your money at all times.

OEICs

We manage a number of 'single manager' Open Ended Investment Company (OEIC) funds.

These funds have significant personal investments from many of the senior staff at Octopus, including the fund managers themselves.

Enterprise Investment Schemes

Enterprise Investment Schemes (EIS) are one of the most tax efficient investment products available to UK investors.

Enterprise Investment Schemes offer multiple tax benefits:

30% upfront income tax relief provided the investment is held for three years. Investors receive tax relief of 30% of the amount invested, up to £500,000 per year, against their income tax bill for this year (or the last tax year, if you choose - this may be at the lower, historical rate of 20%);
100% capital gains tax deferral;
100% inheritance tax exemption after two years;
and all capital gains are tax free.
