Ventures Team

The Ventures team manages the Octopus Titan VCTs 1, 2 and 3, all designed to deliver strong returns to investors through investment into early stage UK smaller companies.

The team has a strong track record with an average annual rate of return of 29% per annum. It works with support from a dedicated Octopus Investor Group, which provides many competitive advantages, screening over 2,500 opportunities each year to select a handful of great investments for the fund.

Alliott is involved throughout the investment process including sourcing deal flow, evaluating and assessing potential investee companies through to negotiation and documentation of deal terms and on to portfolio management.

Prior to joining Octopus, he spent four years at the international law firm ashurst, where he worked within the corporate finance and private equity team advising on a number of high profile transactions for clients including Goldman Sachs, Apax Partners, Sporting Bet, N M Rothschild and Terra Firma.

Alliott is a Director of the British Business Angel Association and the University of Oxford society Oxford Entrepreneurs. He also represents Octopus on the boards of Mi-Pay, Graze.com and Semafone.

Alliott has a Masters in Literae Humaniores from Oxford University.
